Multiple Teaching Faculty Positions in Chemistry,Mathematics and Physics Sichuan University - Pittsburgh Institute

Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) invites applications for faculty positions at all levels for several openings ofnon-tenure-streamfaculty. We are seeking outstanding candidates in teaching undergraduate sciences, especially inMATHEMATICS, PHYSICSandCHEMISTRY, as part of our engineering curriculum.

Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) is a new academic entity jointly established by Sichuan University (SCU) and the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt). SCUPI is a realization of the new archetype of institute-scale, collaborative entities between leading universities in the U.S. and China. The institute is one of six large-scale partnerships between an American and a Chinese university. SCUPI matriculated its first group of one hundred freshmen in the fall of 2015, and currently has 460 students in total. The undergraduate program, focused on advanced and sustainable manufacturing, offers majors in IE, ME and MSE. SCUPI will grow to a steady-state enrolment of one thousand six hundred students and eighty faculty within seven years. All courses are taught in English. Our comprehensive curriculum includes courses in physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, humanities, social sciences, and English.

▶Requirements:

• An earned doctoral degree and native-level English fluency are required.

• Candidates should have experience teaching at the university level and be interested in helping to build and grow a new institution.

• While the current search focuses primarily on non-tenure stream (NTS) faculty, outstanding tenure-track and temporary (visiting) appointments will also be considered.

SCUPI faculties are employees of Sichuan University and have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues at Sichuan University and the University of Pittsburgh, and with other partnering universities worldwide. Terms of employment, including salary, relocation, and start-up packages are competitive and on par with those offered by U.S. universities in the United States.
